And the American Idol is David...

By Angel Thursday, May 22, 2008 Comments
.

Shopping blog aside, I just had to! I've never been such a big American Idol fan, but this season is super! :P Amidst the all the boxing metaphors, the final showdown was pure hotness.

Sorry David Archuleta fans, but I have a huge admiration for David Cook. No, no winner has been announced yet (wait a few hours, girls). Forget the judges' comments... looking at iTunes top 100, Cook's performance of "The World I Know" has been pushing Collective Soul's original version to the top. Not to mention two of his performances last week, "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" (Aerosmith) and "I Dare You to Move" (Switchfoot) are also still in the top 100. Also a few weeks ago, although already a popular song, "Always Be My Baby" (Mariah Carey) took a peak into the top after he sang his alternative version.

Of all the Idol contestants (if I didn't miss it), the only other contestant who managed to achieve this was Jason Castro. First time was Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" and second (my favorite!) was Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's reggae-ish version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

I'll be quiet now. Videos after the jump. :P

Update: David Cook is the winner!

Flair of the Day: Sex and the City Limited Designer Coke Bottles

By Angel Tuesday, May 20, 2008 Comments
. . .

Four years ago, like almost every girl in this world, I was saddened by the Big series finale. Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte had to leave the glamoured city of Manhattan (a.k.a my TV). But count a few more days because a Big comeback is just around the Manolo corner!

But what's this? Sex and the City and Coca-Cola are collaborating? Add Patricia Field, Sex and the City's fashion guru to the mix, and what do we Europeans get? Limited-edition designer Coke bottles Sex and the City style! Color me green with envy!

Patricia Fields Designs For Diet Coke

Undoubtedly this summer’s hottest fashion accessory!

Following in the footsteps of fashion designers Julian MacDonald, Matthew Williamson, Jonathan Saunders and Manolo Blahnik, Patricia Field - New York stylist to the stars and the fashion genius behind Sex and the City - is the latest designer to collaborate with Coca-Cola Great Britain. This time Patricia Field has teamed up with ‘diet Coke’ to create four dazzling bespoke designs to appear on its iconic original glass bottles available exclusively to Selfridges.

The limited-edition ‘diet Coke’ City Collection reflects Patricia Field’s renowned urban and edgy style, and brings to life ‘diet Coke’s’ aspirational brand heritage.

It goes like this: each color represents an aspect of life, the gold bottle ‘Career’, the red bottle ‘Passion’, the pink bottle ‘Love’, and the turquoise bottle ‘Fashion’. Which bottle are you? ;)

Admittedly, they aren't as pretty as what you'd expect, but knowing Sex and the City is incorporated into the design, I'm all in, thank you. :P

Sex and the City Macbook Pro?!

Call me silly, but I died when I saw this. Months after getting a Macbook Pro, I see a Sex and the City one? Seriously?!

I can still remember my 'Carrie necklace' (of course it didn't read Carrie!) and my "Mr. Big" tees. I guess by now you can tell how much of a Sex and the City addict I am. So to see a Sex and the City Macbook Pro is a cause of death... my cause of death!

But I am alive because no such thing exists after all. :P Apparently, it was just pointing to a "sneak peek" at Carrie's Mac. Bleh. If only I bothered to read a little, no breakdown would have happened. Silly.

The Movie

On your spare time, visit the official movie website. Pretty entertaining for a movie website. And girls, get a copy of the soundtrack! I do not know one girl who doesn't love it! (Especially Fergie's Labels or Love!)
